ANALYSIS: As has been said about Richard, he is reliant on getting into the end zone for his production to be worth it, and unfortunately the Packers have hit a tough stretch recently in the world of scoring touchdowns. They got back on track in a big divisional win and confidence booster over the Minnesota Vikings but then blew it against the Chicago Bears on Thanksgiving night.
Richard Rodgers got seven targets in their most recent game, catching four balls for 30 yards. Seven targets is encouraging though. It should also be noted that they get the Raiders in Week 15 for those who love beating up on them for the tight end matchup. It should be noted that Andrew Quarless is eligible to come off of the injured reserve as of this week, but the Packers are playing on Thursday against the Lions and while it is reported that Green Bay would like to activate him, no roster move has been made and as of now Quarless is not active. Quarless also has recently been sentenced to a year of probation thanks to a gun incident in Florida, so discipline could come down from that on him as well. Regardless, Rodgers isn’t fooling anyone with his identity, he is the touchdown dependent, low yardage type who is a decent TE2 plug for teams who need him.
