Mark Reynolds: Can Coors Field Resuscitate Him?

Mark Reynolds failed to make a positive impression in St. Louis in 2015, as he was only able to hit 13 home runs alongside a poor .230 batting average. Sadly, that was a big step forward from his .196 average in 2014 (though he did hit 22 bombs for Milwaukee at least).

Teams know what they’re getting with Reynolds, a guy with holes in his swing who can power a ball a long way. He’ll be 32 this year, so it isn’t as though his body should be incapable of resetting to the days of being good for 20-25 homers, but his mind and eye need to be there as well. Unfortunately he won't get 500 appearances to hit that range unless injury clears a path.

He will be mixing in with Ben Paulsen at first base, playing primarily against left handed pitching (not that he's good against lefties, but this is Colorado's plan). He could also spell Nolan Arenado should something happen to him. If there were ever a situation where we could see a Reynolds renaissance, Coors is the stage needed. Don't write him off, but he's only useful in deeper NL-only leagues as of now.
