The Cut List - Players on the Chopping Block (Week 12)

As the season wears on, this list will feature more name brand players that you may have trouble letting go. Peyton Manning owners remember all too well how a big name can derail an entire season if you refuse to accept that he simply no longer has value. The names on this list no longer have fantasy value.

Each week from now until the end of the season, I’ll be offering my thoughts on players who don’t deserve to keep a roster spot on your fantasy football teams. Below are my Week 12 cuts and drops for fantasy football.

Let's get to it.

Players to Consider Dropping or Replacing

D'Onta Foreman (RB, HOU)

This one is unfortunate as D'Onta Foreman had the best game of his young career last week and looked well on his way to usurping Lamar Miller or at least forcing an even timeshare. That all came screeching to a halt when Foreman plunged into the end zone for his second score of the day, tearing his achilles in the process. It's a disappointing end to a promising young rookie's season.

Chris Thompson (RB, WAS)

I hate having to put anyone on here for any other reason than awful play. I really hate having to put an under-appreciated breakout player finally getting getting an opportunity to shine. Chris Thompson broke his leg Sunday. He was well on his way to an RB1 performance. Instead, he finds himself on IR. Samaje Perine is going to handle all the work he can going forward.

Jordy Nelson (WR, GB)

There is a huge caveat here in the distinct possibility Aaron Rodgers returns in week 15. With that being said, the Packers are likely to be 6-7 heading into week 15. It will almost certainly take 10 wins to secure a wild card spot in the NFC and the Vikings will have at least clinched finishing ahead of the Packers in the division by then. It is very questionable that Rodgers will even be healthy enough to return and less likely that it will be worth it. Jordy Nelson hasn't posted more than 35 yards in the four games without Rodgers. Brett Hundley either throws the ball to Davante Adams or to the other team. We are in the home stretch now. You know you can't start Jordy Nelson. If you need to pick someone up that can help you lock up a playoff spot, don't be afraid to drop Nelson.

Nelson Agholor (WR, PHI)

I. Told. You. So. There will be no modesty from me on this one. I spent the entirety of Nelson Agholor's career bashing him as not being an NFL caliber WR. He spent the first seven weeks flukily catching touchdown after touchdown. I knew it was unsustainable and once it did come to an end, so would the farce of Agholor "figuring it out" or being a viable fantasy option. Agholor was coming off consecutive weeks of exactly 5.6 fantasy points. He came out of the bye to register one catch for negative two yards. I'm sure he'll score a touchdown again at some point this season and if you want to chase touchdowns with overrated, underachieving WRs, then Agholor is your guy. Otherwise, you can safely find someone else.
