Rangers No Longer Signing Seung-hwan Oh
7 years agoMLB.com's T.R. Sullivan reports that the Texas Rangers have called off a previously reported deal with free-agent relief pitcher Seung-hwan Oh after an MRI discovered damage in his throwing arm. This will have major consequences for the Texas bullpen, as Oh was expected to serve as the either the team's closer or eighth-inning setup man. With reliever Matt Bush expected to be stretched into a starter, the team presumably will turn once again to 2016 saves leader Alex Claudio. This news should dramatically raise Claudio's stock in drafts and subsequently send Oh's tumbling. Fantasy owners would be wise to avoid Oh until the severity of the damage to his throwing arm is made public and he's signed on with another club for 2018.
