Willie Cauley-Stein's Second-Half Fantasy Outlook
7 years agoSacramento Kings forward/center Willie Cauley-Stein has not quite had the breakout season thus far that many owners had been hoping for. So far this season, WCS has put up a decent 12.3 points per game and 6.7 rebounds a night to go along with some solid defensive stats of 0.9 blocks and 1.1 steals a game. He has been a headache to own at times, though, as he can put together three- to five-game stretches where he is a top-10 fantasy center and then he can do the complete opposite for the same stretch. This has been due to inconsistent playing time and head coach Dave Joerger's bizarre rotations. Let's not forget WCS' post All-Star improvements last season when he was finally unleashed after DeMarcus Cousins left town (5.8 points, 2.7 rebounds, 0.4 blocks and 0.5 steals to 12.9 points, 8.1 rebounds, 0.9 blocks and 1.1 steals). If Joerger and the Kings management ever decide to go all in for the future, we could see a top-10 fantasy center in Cauley-Stein, but then again, we may not. This is the Sacramento Kings after all. Either way, WCS is an above-average big to own the rest of the way, and he should not be sitting on any waiver wires.
