Can Kyle Seager Take The Next Step?
7 years agoSeattle Mariners third baseman Kyle Seager produced another ho-hum season of 25-plus home runs and 74 or more runs driven in last season. But he hit a career-low .249 and struggled to produce the kind of power numbers the Mariners were hoping for in the first half of the season. After slugging .499 in 2016, that number dipped back to .450 last year, and he hit only one home run in the first month of the season. Seager still is a productive piece to the Mariners offensive puzzle and hit a career-best .287 with runners in scoring position last season. Whether he can put it all together for a full season is anyone's guess, but Seager represents a solid, if unspectacular, fantasy option at a position that has some elite talent. He has hit 20 home runs the last six seasons and is a solid bet to continue that streak in 2018.
