7 years agoKansas City Royals starting pitcher Jakob Junis had a strong outing in his start against Seattle. The Royals pitcher threw seven shutout innings. Only three strikeouts is less than ideal, and he has never been a huge strikeout pitcher. In his career, Junis has averaged 7.13 strikeouts per nine innings and managed 7.32 in the majors in 2017. That means he should improve on his current 5.79 mark, but not significantly so. His strikeouts are a limiting factor in innings-limit leagues, but 14 shutout innings so far in 2018 means he is still a must-add in 12-team leagues. A strong outing against the Angels this week should see him added in most 10-team leagues as well.--Ben Rolfe
