7 years agoOutfielder Renato Nunez was claimed off waivers by the Texas Rangers Sunday. Nunez was added to the 25-man roster at the expense of Ryan Rua on Monday. Nunez goes straight into the lineup for Monday's game, hitting sixth and playing in left field. Nunez has not had much success so far in just 31 major league plate appearances. In 262 games at Triple-A, he has hit 55 home runs with four steals and a .242 average. He will likely slot straight into the weak side of a platoon with Ronald Guzman and play mostly against left-handed pitchers. His power upside means he is worth an add in AL-only and 15-team mixed leagues despite having limited playing time initially.--Ben Rolfe
