7 years agoTexas Rangers starting pitcher Cole Hamels has struggled so far in 2018, giving up a league-leading seven home runs in his four outings. Despite this tendency to give up homers, he has actually only had two really bad starts. He now gets to face a team that ranks 27th in HRs and 26th in slugging percentage, the Tampa Bay Rays. Hamels has also been striking out plenty of hitters, with 30 strikeouts in 22 innings, and it can be expected for the strikeouts to keep coming, as the Rays are averaging nine strikeouts per game.
