7 years agoKansas City Royals catcher Salvador Perez (knee) threw out two base runners in his rehab start at Triple-A on Thursday. Afterwards, Perez told reporters he felt good and should be back soon. It is now looking increasingly like Perez will return Monday for the Royals series against the Brewers. The Royals enter Friday at 3-13 and could desperately use the return of their star catcher. The Royals will likely ease Perez back in slowly but the career .272 hitter should see close to everyday playing time between catcher and designated hitter, fairly quickly.--Ben Rolfe
