FanDuel Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks (5/4/18): NBA DFS Lineups

How weird has this second round been? After most were thinking that the West would be two easy sweeps for the Rockets and Warriors (even though it is still likely for Golden State), the Cavs and Celtics are up two games in their respective second round matchups. Though a lot can change, things have been surprising for sure. Friday night we head back out west for two games of high importance. The Jazz seemed to have figured out how to cool off James Harden a bit, while Steve Kerr has stated that he plans on sending Anthony Davis to the line a lot in Game 3, something to keep in mind, at least from a theory perspective.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for FanDuel on 5/4/18. These DFS lineup picks can vary from higher-priced players and elite options to lower-priced players and value picks on FanDuel.

You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for sites like FanDuel, and other sports too. Give me a follow on Twitter @Den_Clausen and say hello. Good luck and May the fourth be with you (I can’t believe I wrote that).

FanDuel DFS Guards

Stephen Curry - PG, @ NOP ($9,700)

Curry played only 27 minutes on Wednesday but had no issues putting up stats off of the bench, finishing the contest with 42.4 fantasy points. In total, he scored 28 points, had three steals and shot an efficient 5-for-10 from behind the arc. He will start in Game 3 and will likely play more minutes, likely hitting his value with no trouble at all.

Chris Paul - PG, @ UTA ($8,800)

While James Harden quasi-struggled in Game 2, Paul picked up the slack, accumulating 23 points and three steals. While Harden will still put up a ton of fantasy points, I am a little apprehensive with the idea of Utah matching him up more with Dante Exum once again. If that theory holds true again, Paul will likely continue to put up more shots in Game 3 than he did in Game 1.

Also Consider: Alec Burks (if Ricky Rubio Sits), Donovan Mitchell, James Harden, Eric Gordon, Rajon Rondo

FanDuel DFS Forwards

Draymond Green - PF, @ NOP ($9,000)

After acquiring a triple-double in Game 1, Green narrowly missed doing it again in Game 2, failing to reach the mark by a single rebound. While most will be trying to figure out how to include Anthony Davis in their FanDuel lineup for Game 3, Steve Kerr’s proclamation that he will get physical with him on Friday in order to get him to the line may take him down a peg or two, especially since hitting value for a guy who is priced at nearly $13,000 will be much more difficult. Davis is shooting 81 percent from the stripe this postseason, but that number may take a hit if he is forced to shoot more free throws in this one. As a result, I think it may be a safer option to save some cash and roll with Green.

Jae Crowder - PF, vs HOU ($5,000)

Crowder has been fantastic so far in this series and has been more productive and getting more minutes than Derrick Favors, who is priced $800 more. Crowder has seen over 30 minutes a game and has also been letting his shots fly, shooting 8-for-13 from behind the arc over the first two games. He’s been hot and will likely continue to produce on Friday night.

P.J. Tucker - SF, @ UTA ($4,600)

Tucker has been great against the Jazz so far this series, averaging 27.85 fantasy points throughout the first two games. Though his contributions don’t always show up on the stat sheet, he is known for his defensive prowess and feared by many as a result. With Mike D’Antoni opting to play small in Game 2, he may continue to see some added minutes in Game 3, especially if Houston focuses on shutting down the outside shooting of Utah. Generously priced at only $4,600, he could easily hit value.

Also Consider: Kevin Durant, Joe Ingles, E’Twaun Moore, Nikola Mirotic, David West

FanDuel DFS Centers

Rudy Gobert - C, vs HOU ($7,900)

There aren’t many favorable options at the center spot on Friday night and as a result, you won’t be able to cut corners here. Though the plan didn’t exactly work out for Houston, they opted to play small in Game 2, leaving Clint Capela with only a little over 30 minutes of action. I’m concerned that the Rockets may implore the same strategy, leaving Gobert as the only logical option on the slate. Gobert didn’t play as well in Game 1, but he turned things around on Wednesday, recording 15 points, 14 boards and three blocks to finish out the night. He should continue to see minutes, while Capela’s potential workload is up in the air at this time. The Rockets may still give Capela some more minutes and he may produce, he is too risky in my opinion, especially considering his price.
