7 years agoRory McIlroy turned in three solid rounds and one poor round on his way to a T16 finish at the Wells Fargo Championship. This time it was a Friday 76 that was too much for the Irishman to overcome, as he combined for eight-under par in his other three rounds on his way to a three-under finish. This has been a problem for McIlroy of late, as a final-round 74 at the Masters eliminated any hope he had at winning the year's first major. If he can buck the trend this week at the Players Championship, he has a real shot at the win.--cmangano
