7 years agoDetroit Tigers starting pitcher Matthew Boyd had himself a solid start on Thursday against the 24-19 Mariners. Boyd threw for six innings, allowing two runs on six hits while striking out nine and walking just one. The Tigers rallied to win the game late, meaning Boyd had to settle for the no-decision despite the strong start. The nine strikeouts marked a season high for him, and he'll take a 3.19 ERA and 1.06 WHIP into his next scheduled start on the road against the Twins.
