6 years agoAfter leaving Tuesday’s start against the Atlanta Braves after three innings due to a finger injury, New York Mets starting pitcher Steven Matz underwent an MRI on Wednesday. Thankfully, the results were good -- a slight strain of his left middle finger, and he is day-to-day. Missing time right now would have been awful for Matz and the Mets. Matz has gotten into a bit of a groove, and the Mets simply cannot afford more pitching injuries. It’s unclear when he’ll start again, but we’ll likely find out very soon. Don't be surprised if his next start is skipped.--John Smith
