6 years agoXander Schauffele will make his second U.S. Open appearance this week as the 2017 rookie of the year looks to find consistency in 2018. In his U.S. Open debut at Erin Hills last year, Schauffele starred on his way to a top-five finish in what was his first appearance at any major. Schauffele will need to improve on his play off the tee, however, if he is to repeat last year's heroics. Over the previous 12 rounds, Schauffele ranks a dismal 108th for strokes gained off the tee, a factor which could prove very problematic with thick rough and fescue just off the fairways at Shinnecock Hills.--Gianni
