Michael Kopech Allows Eight Walks Thursday
6 years agoChicago White Sox pitching prospect Michael Kopech allowed eight walks Thursday evening for Triple-A Charlotte. Kopech only went three innings in the contest and allowed two hits and five runs. He also struck out two. Kopech has cooled off since his hot start to the season and has had command issues with 20 walks over his last five starts. Kopech remains one of the more exciting pitching prospects in the game due to his ability to touch 100 mph on the radar gun, but he will need better command before the White Sox promote him to the big leagues. General manager Rick Hahn spoke earlier in the week and said the White Sox would be patient and do what's best for the development of their top prospects. Kopech should debut in 2018, but it is unlikely to be as soon as fantasy owners would like. He remains a nice stash in redraft leagues and should already be owned in dynasty leagues.
