6 years agoTexas Ranger starting pitcher Bartolo Colon put together a solid outing Wednesday against the Boston Red Sox. Facing that Red Sox offense is a tough ask for any pitcher, but Colon surrendered just three earned runs on nine hits in a six innings outing. Colon has had an up and down season but for a 45 year-old the numbers do not look that bad, with a 4.64 ERA in 106 2/3 innings. From a fantasy point of view Colon's value is limited by his lack of strikeouts, with just 62 this season. At this stage of his career, Colon's value is limited to extremely deep mixed and AL-only leagues.--Ben Rolfe
