6 years agoTexas Rangers outfielder Austin Jackson was officially released by the Rangers on Saturday. Jackson, who was designated for assignment Wednesday, will now look to try and restart his career elsewhere in the major leagues. Jackson never played for the Rangers following a trade which brought him over from the San Francisco Giants. In 59 games this season, Jackson has a .242 batting average with zero home runs and two steals. Even if Jackson signs with another team, it seems highly unlikely that he will be a fantasy relevant outfielder at any point this season.--Ben Rolfe
