6 years agoDespite having not played since finishing third at the U.S. Open, Dustin Johnson opened as the 12/1 betting favorite, according to the Westgate Las Vegas Superbook. Johnson has yet to win the Open Championship, but does have three top-10 finishes including a second in 2011 at Royal St. George. This is Johnson's first trip to Carnoustie, but he has said that he plans on hitting driver a lot and that the fairways are firm and fast. If he's hitting fairways he certainly has the length to overpower this golf course, and he should be in contention come Sunday. Despite a long layoff, Johnson has a real chance to take home his second career major and first Clarrett Jug.--cmangano
