6 years agoAtlanta Falcons running back Ito Smith is listed third on the running back depth chart prior to the preseason opener. Smith has managed to beat out the competition, despite seeing limited time on the field so far in training camp. The concerning sign for Smith is that he was not listed on the depth chart as a kick returner. This means that if Smith does falter at running back then he could be vulnerable to being cut from the roster. Smith comes into the NFL with 4,538 rushing yards and 42 touchdowns at Southern Mississippi. In addition, Smith also had 1,446 receiving yards and seven receiving touchdowns, which makes him an ideal fit for this offense.--Ben Rolfe
