John Hicks Done For The Season
6 years agoDetroit Tigers first baseman and catcher John Hicks (groin) will have season-ending surgery, the team announced. Hicks saw a major uptick in playing time after Miguel Cabrera suffered a season-ending injury of his own, essentially becoming the everyday man at first base. He was first placed on the 10-day disabled list on August 8th, but was hopeful to return without needing surgery. That obviously won't be the case now, and he'll finish the year with a .260 average, nine homers, and 32 RBI.
