6 years agoAtlanta Falcons running back Ito Smith grabbed his first opportunity in a regular season game and ran with it on Sunday against the Carolina Panthers. The Falcons rookie running back rushed the ball nine times for 46 yards, adding an eight yard reception on his only target. Smith demonstrated that he has the potential to be a valuable change of pace back for the Falcons, not just this season but going forward. Smith's value in the next few weeks will depend largely on the availability of Devonta Freeman. If Freeman is available then Smith is unlikely to see enough touches to score significant fantasy points. However, if Freeman is out then Smith certainly has value, but that will mostly be in deeper leagues.--Ben Rolfe
