6 years agoIndianapolis Colts wide receiver T.Y. Hilton (hamstring) will be limited in practice on Wednesday, but he hinted that he would be able to play at less than 100 percent in Week 7 against the Bills. “My less (than 100 percent) is better than a lot of people," Hilton said. Hilton has missed the last couple of games, and the Colts offense could really use him back with Ryan Grant now injured and Marcus Johnson on Injured Reserve. Hilton's return would push Chester Rogers to the No. 2 wideout. Hilton would be a low-end WR2 for fantasy owners if he returns at less than 100 percent this Sunday.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

3 years agoThe Cleveland Browns are not one of the two teams besides the Indianapolis Colts that are having "fruitful" talks with free-agent wide receiver T.Y. Hilton, according to a source. The Browns are happy with their receiving room, even though Amari Cooper is the only proven veteran, and they aren't feeling pressured to add a legitimate No. 2. Former Houston Texans pass-catcher Will Fuller also isn't on the Browns radar, even though a source said he'd love to play with quarterback Deshaun Watson again. The Browns are hoping second-year receiver Anthony Schwartz can fulfill some downfield duties. Cleveland feels they have enough pass-catching options with tight ends David Njoku and Harrison Bryant set for plenty of targets in 2022. It's also good news for Donovan Peoples-Jones, who is set to start across from Cooper.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

3 years agoFree-agent wide receiver T.Y. Hilton remains in contact with his former team, the Indianapolis Colts. Yet, he's also drawn interest from a few other clubs around the league, with the Baltimore Ravens rumored to be one of them. The 32-year-old, who has spent his entire career in Indy, has seen a decline in productivity over the years. He had his worst season in 2021, finishing with only 331 yards and three touchdowns off 23 catches while also spending time on injured reserve. Nonetheless, if Hilton can remain healthy, he has a chance to have some decent outings in 2022-23. However, the veteran may benefit even more from a fantasy perspective by signing with the Ravens, primarily since he wouldn't have much competition for snaps. Still, Hilton's best days are likely behind him.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller

3 years agoIndianapolis Colts general manager Chris Ballard texted with free-agent wide receiver T.Y. Hilton this week and thinks Hilton can still play. The Colts continue to monitor Hilton, who remains available on the open market after having his worst NFL season in 2021. He played in only 10 games due to injuries and finished with career-lows across the board in catches (23), targets (37), receiving yards (331) and touchdowns (three). The Colts have upgraded at quarterback with Matt Ryan after rolling with Carson Wentz last year, but even if Hilton were to return, he'd be battling for targets with Parris Campbell behind No. 1 wideout Michael Pittman Jr. The 32-year-old hasn't gone over 800 yards since 2018.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

3 years agoIndianapolis Colts head coach Frank Reich said the team will "see how things play out with T.Y. Hilton." The 32-year-old pass-catcher remains a free agent a month after hitting the open market. Hilton was considering retirement after the 2021 season, but he decided that he wants to play for at least another year. He played in only 10 games last year due to injuries, including a neck issue that required surgery at the beginning of the year. Hilton finished with a career-low 23 receptions for 331 yards and three touchdowns on 37 targets. If Hilton were to return to the Colts for one more season in 2022, he'd certainly be playing at least second fiddle to Michael Pittman Jr. and would be competing for targets with Parris Campbell.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
