BALLER MOVE: Add in 12-Team PPR Leagues
OWNED IN: 10% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: With the news that Saints wide receiver Ted Ginn is headed to the Injured Reserve, Cameron Meredith suddenly gains intrigue. Most are flocking to the buzzy Tre'Quan Smith, but don’t overlook how Meredith has tallied nine targets while Smith has seen five in New Orleans’ last two games.
Meredith is working the middle of the field well and appears to have rapport with Drew Brees, though his role speaks more to a high floor rather than high ceiling like Smith. Even with Mark Ingram back in Week 5, Meredith’s five targets were tied with Michael Thomas despite Meredith playing on just 45% of their snaps.
It’s possible the Saints are still looking to ease Meredith in after his torn ACL, but a rise in snaps is very likely down the road, if not immediately, for a guy who has shown a connection with one of the all-time greats slinging the ball. Don’t let Tre'Quan steal all of the spotlight from Meredith, who should be a solid add in most PPR leagues and may grow into a weekly top-40 WR.
