6 years agoPhoenix Suns point guard Isaiah Canaan was held to just five points and six assists in Saturday’s loss to the New Orleans Pelicans. More concerning than the dip in numbers was the fact that Canaan saw 26 minutes and posted a team-worst -24 during his time on the floor. He appears to still have a hold over Jamal Crawford and Elie Okobo for starting point guard duties, but Devin Booker’s ability to handle the ball could put a ceiling on Canaan unless an extreme focus on assists is needed. He gets a matchup with the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday.--Jesse Borek
