Caris LeVert Suffers Severe Injury
6 years agoBrooklyn Nets shooting guard Caris Levert (ankle, leg) was forced to leave Monday night's game against the Timberwolves on a stretcher, according to Kent Youngblood of the Minnesota Star-Tribune. LeVert suffered the injury late in the second quarter as he landed back on the floor after trying to block Timberwolves Josh Okogie's shot. He is expected to be out for an extended amount of time. While no one wants to see any player suffer an injury, especially a major one, it is particularly disappointing for LeVert, as he was having a breakout season. The third-year pro entered the game averaging a career-high 19.0 points on 47.7 percent shooting from the field while making 1.5 three-pointers a game, also a personal best. Spencer Dinwiddie will likely replace LeVert in the starting lineup while Allen Crabbe and Shabazz Napier could get more run. Dinwiddie, who has put up solid numbers off the bench, becomes relevant in fantasy leagues with increased minutes. However, Crabbe and Napier are no more than cheap fliers in DFS.
