6 years agoCharlotte Hornets small forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist has been ruled out for Monday’s contest against the Boston Celtics due to a right ankle sprain. It will mark the third consecutive game missed for Kidd-Gilchrist, who posted his lone double-double of the season in his last full outing before the injury. After starting every game he appeared in for the last two seasons, Kidd-Gilchrist has had to embrace a bench role under new head coach James Borrego and is averaging just 20.4 minutes per night through his first 13 games, meaning that he can hang out on the waiver wire until he strings some strong performances together.--Jesse Borek
