6 years agoWashington Wizards power forward/center Markieff Morris pumped in 18 points on 7-for-13 shooting and 1-for-3 from beyond the arc in Monday's victory over the Knicks. He chipped in seven rebounds, an assist and a steal in 24 minutes off the bench. The 29-year-old has scored in double-figures in seven of the past eight games while seeing 22 or more minutes in each of the eight contests. Morris is averaging 15.9 points, 7.5 rebounds, two three-pointers, and 1.3 assists in 28.7 minutes of action during this stretch. With Dwight Howard (glutes) out and the Wizards using a small-ball lineup, the eighth-year pro, who has a consistent floor, should continue to see plenty of minutes going forward.--Daniel Benjamin
