6 years agoPortland Trail Blazers forward Jake Layman erupted for 15 points in just under six minutes in the first quarter and finished the game with 24 points in the blowout win over the Suns on Thursday. Layman connected on a sizzling 10 of 13 shots and recorded seven rebounds with two steals and three makes from deep in 26 minutes. Layman outscored the Suns on his own in the first quarter by a score of 15-9 and he may get a little extra run after this explosion, but he really does not hold any long-term value at the moment in all formats.--Gianni Costantiello
