6 years agoWashington Wizards small/power forward Sam Dekker dropped a season-high 20 points off the bench during Sunday’s win over the Los Angeles Lakers, acclimating himself well to his new team in just his fourth game with DC. After playing four scoreless minutes earlier in the week, Dekker was not shy in his 22 minutes Sunday, finishing 10-for-15 from the field, adding five rebounds, four assists and three steals. He benefited from Washington being caught in flux with Kelly Oubre and Austin Rivers on their way to Phoenix, while Trevor Ariza had not yet arrived to complete the deal. How much run he gets going forward remains to be seen, but he has shown a propensity to score the ball when he does get time.--Jesse Borek
