Damian Lillard Knocks Down Game-Winning Three-Pointer
6 years agoPortland Trail Blazers point guard Damian Lillard came up big when needed as he knocked down a three-pointer in front of the Warriors' bench with 6.3 seconds left in overtime to give the Blazers a 110-109 victory. Lillard finished with 21 points on 7-for-20 shooting, including 3-for-8 from beyond the arc. He added five assists, one rebound, and one steal in 41 minutes. The three-pointer was his lone basket in overtime as C.J. McCollum contributed the other five points as the Blazers outscored the Warriors 8-7 in the extra session. The seventh-year pro has topped the 20-point mark for the third straight game and the sixth time in the last seven outings. While the 28-year-old has struggled shooting a little bit the past five games, he is averaging 27 points, 3.2 three-pointers, 5.3 assists, and 4.2 rebounds while shooting 45.9 percent from the field and 46.2 percent from long distance in December. Lillard will look to extend his streak of at least one three-pointer to 45 straight regular season games, which includes last season, against the Warriors on Saturday. He has produced 22 points, three trifectas, and 6.5 rebounds in two games versus the Warriors this year.
