Joel Embiid Dominates Clippers On New Year's Day
6 years agoPhiladelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid scored 28 points, grabbed 19 rebounds, blocked three shots, handed out three assists and came up with one steal in Tuesday's victory over the Clippers. It was his 11th game of scoring at least 20 points and pulling down 15 or more rebounds. He was 9-for-19 from the field, 2-for-4 from the three-point line and 8-for-12 from the free throw line. The 24-year-old has been terrific over the past four outings, topping the 20-point mark in each of those contests while averaging 28 points along with 15.3 rebounds, three assists, 2.8 blocks, and 4.5 turnovers during this span. Embiid has an excellent chance to extend his double-double streak to seven straight games against Deandre Ayton and the Suns on Wednesday. The fifth-year pro posted 33 points and 17 boards in the first outing versus Phoenix.
