6 years agoDallas Mavericks point guard J.J. Barea carved up the Minnesota Timberwolves defense during his 22 minutes on the floor Friday, finishing with 16 points, seven assists and four rebounds. But his night was ended prematurely by a leg injury which the Mavericks fear is a torn right Achilles tendon. The injury would obviously put the 34-year-old Barea on the shelf for the remainder of the season. In the conversation for Sixth Man of the Year despite playing fewer than 20 minutes per game, Barea averaged 10.9 points and 5.6 assists per game through 38 contests this season.--Jesse Borek
