6 years agoGolden State Warriors small forward Kevin Durant was terrific in the first quarter of the Dubs' victory over the Nuggets on Tuesday. The 30-year-old tallied 17 of his 27 points during the team's record-setting 51 first-quarter points as he made all seven of his shots, including each of his three-point attempts. He also dished five assists and grabbed one rebound in the opening frame. Durant finished 11-for-15 from the field and 5-for-7 from long distance to go along with four rebounds, six assists, one block, and one steal. He has now scored 20 or more points in 17 straight games. The 12th-year vet scored 24 points, grabbed five rebounds and dished out eight assists the last time that the Warriors faced the Pelicans, who is their opponent on Wednesday.--Daniel Benjamin
