Dennis Smith Jr. Productive In His Return To The Team
6 years agoDallas Mavericks point guard Dennis Smith Jr. returned to the team after a six-game absence and was plugged back into the starting lineup Tuesday against the Los Angeles Clippers. He posted 17 points with eight rebounds, four assists and a steal across 37 minutes. Smith was away from the team with trade talk circulating, and head coach Rick Carlisle said last week he believed Smith's representation was advising him to stay away from the team. Rookie Luka Doncic has emerged as a star, taking DSJ's starting point guard job. The two were in the starting five together Tuesday, but it's going to be an ongoing situation.
