6 years agoToronto Raptors center Marc Gasol played his first game for his new franchise during Saturday’s win over the New York Knicks. Gasol was out of his element, coming off the bench for the first time since Dec. 26, 2008, when he was a rookie with the Memphis Grizzlies. Gasol finished with seven points, six rebounds and two steals across 19 minutes, likely to see that total tick up down the stretch. Either way, Gasol owners can certainly feel nervous about his new surroundings, with a slight reduction of role expected on a more balanced Raptors squad. He next faces the Nets on Monday, who have had difficulty slowing opposing centers this season.--Jesse Borek
