6 years agoNew Orleans Pelicans power forward/center Anthony Davis took just eight shots during Saturday’s loss to the Memphis Grizzlies, yet still managed to record a double-double. Davis compiled 14 points, 16 rebounds, six assists, two steals and two blocks, all while shooting 4-for-8 across 34 minutes. By Davis’ standards, it was arguably his most pedestrian game of the new year, coming against a squad notorious for their stingy defensive play. Before owners press the panic button, Davis did play both ends of the back-to-back, which bodes well for his status down the stretch. He looks to get his offense going again Tuesday versus Orlando, whom he has snatched 12.8 boards per game against during his career, his most against any opponent.--Jesse Borek
