6 years agoNew Orleans Pelicans point guard Elfrid Payton will be sidelined for the ninth consecutive game Thursday against the Oklahoma City Thunder due to a right ankle sprain. Despite earning a questionable tag earlier in the day, there never really seemed like a chance that Payton would play as head coach Alvin Gentry has focused on bringing him back healthy for the season’s final few months. Payton enters the All-Star break having played in just 19 games due to a myriad of injuries, but has looked promising in his time on the floor. Once he’s cleared, he should be rostered in most formats.--Jesse Borek
