6 years agoBrooklyn Nets guard D'Angelo Russell celebrated his 22nd birthday on Saturday evening, and after blowing out his candles he reminded us all that he still has ice in his veins. The clutch gene was out for the young guard, as helped halt a late Charlotte surge by scoring his team's final 12 points, rounding out his 40 point performance. The birthday boy also decided to share the gifts with his teammates, handing out seven assists on the night, alongside one board, two assists, and one block. Russell connected on 14-for-31 from the field and 6-for-15 from three-point land in a heavy usage night. He and his squad are at home on Monday night against the San Antonio Spurs, a team that Russell posted 25 points against last time out.--Matthew.McGough
