6 years agoCenter Pau Gasol had his contract bought out by the San Antonio Spurs on Friday, paving the way for him to join the Milwaukee Bucks for the remainder of the 2018-19 season, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. Gasol has appeared in 27 games (six starts) this year for the Spurs, averaging a career-low 12.2 minutes per contest, adding just 4.2 points and 4.7 rebounds on a nightly basis. He will likely come off the bench behind Brook Lopez for Milwaukee, who boasts the league’s best record. Gasol's departure from San Antonio likely clears the way for Jakob Poeltl to see additional run down the stretch, although LaMarcus Aldridge could be deployed at the center spot as well.--Jesse Borek
