6 years agoOklahoma City Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook collected 37 points, seven rebounds and a season-low three assists during Thursday’s win over the Portland Trail Blazers. The three assists mark the fewest in a regular season outing for Westbrook since Jan. 26, 2017. One outlier isn’t likely to affect his season average, which remains at 10.6 per game, tops in the league for the second consecutive year. Much of the issue can be chalked up to Paul George’s rough shooting performance, with Westbrook next able to bounce back immediately for the second leg of a back-to-back Friday versus the Los Angeles Clippers.--Jesse Borek
