6 years agoWashington Wizards power forward/center Bobby Portis landed himself back in the double-double column during a loss to Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday, collecting 21 points and 12 rebounds across his 31 minutes. The Wizards have unleashed Portis since acquiring him from Chicago, and with Dwight Howard still not in the picture, Portis should continue to see ample opportunities in the frontcourt over the season’s final month. His three-point shot has been an encouraging development since the deal, having gone 24-for-52 overall (46.2 percent). He’ll test out his newfound marksmanship Monday against the Sacramento Kings, in what should be a favorable match-up against a team that also plays at a quickened tempo.--Jesse Borek
