6 years agoMinnesota Timberwolves power forward Taj Gibson has spent the vast majority of his season playing alongside Karl-Anthony Towns in the frontcourt. With Towns absent during Sunday’s win over the New York Knicks, Gibson took over as the starting center and delivered a season-best 25-point performance, adding in eight rebounds across 30 minutes. It also served as a return to the starting lineup for Gibson, who had come off the bench in each of the seven previous outings. Towns was a game-time decision Sunday after sustaining a knee injury late Saturday, so it doesn’t appear that many more starts at center are in the works for Gibson, but he remains a fantasy option regardless.--Jesse Borek
