6 years agoTexas Rangers outfielder Hunter Pence occupied the fifth spot in the lineup against the Chicago Cubs on Opening Day. Pence lined up in the designated hitter spot, which belonged to Shin-Soo Choo for much of last season. This lineup would indicate that Pence and Choo could be in a straight platoon for the DH spot this season, with both of them getting in the lineup when the other outfielders need off days. However, for mixed leagues neither has much value in this situation, and in AL-only leagues Choo should still be the one with the most value.--Ben Rolfe
