6 years agoKansas City Royals shortstop Adalberto Mondesi (groin) has been placed on the 10-day injured list. Mondesi was removed from Tuesday's game after experiencing right groin tightness. Nicky Lopez is expected to get the bulk of the starts at shortstop while he is away. The 24-year-old rookie got off to a fast start when he was initially called up but is hitting .232/.267/.320 with only a homer, 15 runs, five RBI and a steal in 125 at-bats. While he might not be attractive in most mixed leagues, he's certainly worth a roster spot in AL-only formats for his speed (if he ever starts running) and the fact that he'll be playing every day. Keep Mondesi stashed in all leagues.--Joseph Magazzinich
