5 years agoBoston Red Sox outfielder Andrew Benintendi is not in the starting lineup for Thursday's series finale against the Blue Jays. J.D. Martinez is getting the start in left field, while Christian Vazquez is starting at designated hitter. Benintendi sat out three of the last four games in June with a quadriceps injury and perhaps there have been some lingering effects of it. Benintendi is 0-for-12 with four strikeouts and no walks in his last three games. Today's benching sounds more like a rest game and hopefully the All-Star break will allow Benintendi some time to regroup as he has just one home run since May 29 and is hitting just .266 on the year.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
