5 years agoPittsburgh Pirates pitcher Jordan Lyles had shown some signs of a breakout season during the first two months of the year, but the month of July has been absolutely disastrous for him. On Wednesday, Lyles pitched just 1 2/3 innings and allowed seven hits, one walk, three home runs and a total of eight runs (five earned). Lyles has now allowed 20 earned runs over just 12 innings in July. His 24.9% strikeout rate on the year is solid, but Lyles can't be trusted for now and belongs on waivers until he rediscovers his early season form.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
