Alexander Mattison Shows Well In Debut
5 years agoMinnesota Vikings rookie running back Alexander Mattison put up a solid effort on Friday night, carrying nine times for 30 yards and catching 1-of-2 targets for a one-yard receiving touchdown in the victory. The touchdown came on a well-executed play-action pass from starting quarterback Kirk Cousins in the game's opening drive. He was outplayed by backup Mike Boone (four carries for 70 yards and a touchdown) in this game, but Mattison has a firm hold on the top backup spot to Dalvin Cook and looks to be one of the better handcuffs in fantasy football this year. He is being drafted at 175 overall (RB58) in fantasy drafts, but you may want to secure him earlier if you're a Cook owner.
