Nick Solak Hits Third Home Run Tuesday
5 years agoTexas Rangers second baseman Nick Solak went 2-for-5 with his third home run of the season Tuesday vs the Rays. Solak has absolutely torn up Major League pitching since being called up on August 20. He's slashing .333/.446/.536 and has 14 runs and 13 RBI in 20 games so far at the Big League level. He won't be quite this good moving forward, the average is boosted by a .417 BABIP, but he's one of the hottest hitters in the game right now and is batting cleanup for Texas. Even if the average regresses a bit he is aided by a 12 percent walk rate after being a great plate discipline guy in the minors so there is a solid floor, especially in OBP leagues. If Solak is still available he should be added quickly.
