Alec Burks To Be Sidelined For Warriors Season Opener
5 years agoGolden State Warriors shooting guard/small forward Alec Burks will be held out of Thursday’s season-opening contest against the Los Angeles Clippers due to a sprained right ankle. The Warriors’ depth will be tested early, as Burks was expected to be a significant scorer for the team’s second unit. It’s not immediately apparent how head coach Steve Kerr will tinker with his rotation without Burks, but D’Angelo Russell and Glenn Robinson III figure to have even larger roles than previously anticipated, with Jordan Poole a candidate to snag a handful of Burks’ minutes. Golden State’s second game comes Sunday against Oklahoma City.
